The architectural design and character of this new-build property warranted a modern style of kitchen. But the corner of the house we were designing into, despite being part of a large open-plan kitchen-living space, was dark, and furthermore, the client wanted a dark and forgiving frontage. We had to be creative in terms of how we could draw in colour, especially as the client didn’t want the kitchen to feel stark, but warm and homely.
It was clear from the minute we arrived at the property that the garden was IMMENSE! With a beautiful weeping willow tree and so much vibrancy and greenery, we just had to pull this in.
We used bronzed mirror to reflect and bring the garden inside, as well as creating a coffer ceiling where warm lighting would become key! It really worked and the client loved the fact that we managed to bring colour and warmth into the kitchen and living space.
